Connor Jones knows about stepping up to the plate. In March 2012, after both female Principal Dancers at Cincinnati Ballet and a third fill-in from Tulsa Ballet became injured, Connor Jones took the spotlight and performed the lead female role in Rite of Spring. In the summer of 2009 she traveled to Russia and performed the role of Giselle, and other soloist/principal roles in several ballets. “Dancing in Russia for two and a half months changed my approach to dancing and strengthened my technique,” she says. Connor Jones was promoted to Soloist in 2013 and then to Senior Soloist in 2015, due in no small part to her tenacity. Her growth here at Cincinnati Ballet has given her the opportunity to deepen her understanding of what it is to be a performer; of combining strong technique with spirit and artistry in order to share a sense of true emotion with the audience. “Classical ballet has always been my strength and first love, but in order to be a well-rounded artist, I am always striving to improve my contemporary dancing,” says Connor Jones.

Fun fact: Courtney has her own line of jewelry available on Etsy, called B. Unique, found at cconnor.etsy.com.
