"I didn't want to be a dancer," says Amador, now in his eighth year as Principal Dancer at Cincinnati Ballet. Initially athletic and interested in playing the saxophone, Amador's parents gently nudged him towards ballet at the age of nine, and he's been hooked ever since.
"It's one of those things that is so hard, and you wake up in the morning and your body basically doesn't want to move because it's so tired and it's so sore and in so much pain, but you go, and you do it, and after you do it, the next day you just love it again. I love it. It's like an addiction. It's a really hard career, but it becomes this passion, this addiction. You just need it."
