Known affectionately in the dance world as “Freddie”, Mr. Franklin is Cincinnati Ballet’s Artistic Director Emeritus, and a Commander of the British Empire. Mr. Franklin has won acclaim throughout the world for his dancing, teaching and staging. The legendary performer, now 97 years old, has guested in the role of Friar Laurence for Cincinnati Ballet performances of Romeo and Juliet. He also regularly performs the role for New York’s American Ballet Theater.
