Marion Williams, Costume and Scenic Designer

 

MARION WILLIAMS is a scenic and costume designer based in New York working in theatre, opera, and dance. Ms. Williams has designed five consecutive commissions with choreographer Adam Hougland for the Louisville Ballet including last season’s Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. Additional Dance design includes work with Introdans, Parsons Dance, Jose Limon Dance Company, and The Juilliard School. Her designs for regional theatre and opera companies include: Barrington Stage Company, Berkshire Theatre Festival, The Juilliard School (Opera and Drama Divisions), Manhattan School of Music, Mint Theater Company, PlayMakers Repertory Company, Round House Theater, Sacramento Theatre Company, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Two River Theatre Company, The Women’s Project, Williamstown Theatre Festival, among others. Internationally, her designs were featured in Turn of the Screw (opera) in Leipzig, Germany. Ms. Williams received her MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington and is a recipient of a 2004 Princess Grace Award and a 2007 Princess Grace Special Projects grant.
