Meet CB Monday

With Samantha Griffin

GriffinSamantha joined the Cincinnati Ballet in 2015. This year in The Nutcracker, she will be dancing the roles of Rose, Flower, Spanish, and Snowflake.

How long have you been dancing? Why did you become a dancer?

I was around 4 years old when I started dancing. My mom actually put me into a bunch of different sports when I was little. Some sports I was better at than others. Definitely terrible at tennis. So that was a quick no. I remember my mom took me to see my first ballet and I was completely mesmerized. All I could say the rest of the day was “Mom I have to do that.”

Who, or what, was your biggest teacher?

I have been thankful enough to have many amazing teachers in my life. Each one has shaped me to become the dancer I am today. So naming all the teachers that have helped me to where I am would take a couple paragraphs. They each have a place in my heart.

If you had to eat one thing for every meal going forward, what would it be?

TACOS!

What’s your secret talent?

I can make a Chewbacca noise. Embarrassing but true.

What is your most-used emoji?

Currently 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

Well considering I am a proud owner of two cats, which are my heart and soul. I am an all animal lover but definitely love my kitties the most.
