With Jefferson Payne

PAYNE_HEADSHOTJefferson Payne  grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. He started training at the age of four with Boston Ballet School. Mr. Payne danced with The Minnesota Ballet and Oklahoma City Ballet, and most recently was a Guest Artist working closely with coach Magaly Suarez. Have you ever been to Cincinnati?

I have been to Cincinnati a few times, but never for an extended period of time. I am excited to explore the city!

What are you looking forward to about in Cincinnati?

I really look forward to working with the talented dancers of Cincinnati Ballet. I have been following the company for years and am thrilled to be given the opportunity to dance with the company. I am also excited to go to my new favorite coffee shop!

What’s your dream vacation?

My dream vacation is to go to Santorini, Greece.

What’s your favorite role you have ever danced?

My favorite role I have danced was the Prince in Cinderella. This role is special to me because it was my first Principal role in a full length ballet and the music was so fun to dance to!

What is your dream role?

My dream role is Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake.

Who has most influenced you in your career?

The people who have influenced me most in my career are my parents. Not only were my parents able to support my dream, they taught me that you don’t get to where you want to be without hard work, dedication, and a dream.

What do you eat for breakfast?

For breakfast I must have a good cup of coffee! I eat cereal or oatmeal with bananas to get enough potassium and protein for the morning.
