Bella Ureta joined the Cincinnati Ballet corps de ballet in the 2017 season.
How long have you been dancing? Why did you become a dancer?
I have been dancing for 14 years. I started dancing when I was selected to join Pacific Northwest Ballet’s school through their outreach program, ‘Dance Chance’. I loved being part of the performances and working so close with the company members. When I became older I realized I could make a career out of it myself. I found myself in a life that was full of excitement and challenge, and it was a part of who I was.
Who, or what, was your biggest teacher?
I was privileged to train under numerous experienced teachers. One teacher I’ll always be grateful for is Ms. Marjorie Thompson. Her supportive and nurturing spirit is exactly what a teacher should be. She always believed I had more to give, even on the days that I didn’t believe in myself. Thanks Ms. Thompson!
If you had to eat one thing for every meal going forward, what would it be?
If I had to eat one thing every meal going forward it would be a charcuterie board. There are so many options and you can never go wrong with yummy cheese and meats.
What’s your secret talent?
I love making jewelry, and cooking. I’m also good at giving hair cuts and doing different hair styles, like braids and such.
What is your most-used emoji?
My most used emoji is the “laughing so much I’m in tears” emoji 😂
Are you a cat person or a dog person?
I’m a huge animal lover but I’m usually allergic to them all. Cats are great but dogs have my heart. Particularly my two German Shepards, Nala and Bailey, that live with my parents back in Seattle.
