Cincinnati Ballet dancers have been hard at work perfecting the intricate choreography and dramatic staging of King Arthur’s Camelot ahead of Valentine’s Day Weekend performances, February 10-12. See who will be playing the lead roles in this epic tale of adventure, love and betrayal.
The only survivor from a land of war, Arthur is raised by the Sorcerer Merlin and taught the ways of honor and brotherhood. After uniting the kingdom and winning the love of Guinevere, Arthur must defend Camelot against betrayal and magic.
The young princess falls deeply in love with King Arthur and their marriage brings joyous celebrations and unity to the kingdom. When betrayal reaches the royal court, Guinevere’s love is tested as she is swept into a battle between true love and evil sorcery.
The pompous knight comes to Camelot claiming he is the greatest knight in the kingdom. Anxious to prove himself to Arthur, he gladly agrees to a friendly joust. When his opponent is mortally wounded, chaos ensues and the the evil Modred is able to cast a spell instilling a desperate seed of passion for Guinevere in Lancelot’s heart.
The ambitious and devious mortal summoned by the Ladies of the Lake to destroy the peace King Arthur has brought to Camelot. Exploiting Arthur’s sense of honor, he is inducted into the Knights of the Roundtable, only to betray Arthur, Lancelot and Guinevere.
