Inside Horse Puppet Rehearsals

King Arthur's Camelot takes the stage Feb 10-12

Did you notice the two dancers inside the horse Lancelot rides around Fountain Square in our last video Knight on the Town with Lancelot? It’s hard to capture the medieval feeling of Camelot without horses, but real horses don’t do well with sprung floors, so we had Eric Van Wyk create life-like puppets instead. Each is powered by two dancers inside a framework worn like a backpack. See how they work in this rehearsal footage from inside the Cincinnati Ballet studios.
