When she was two years old, Hannah Strauch saw San Francisco Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker and told her mother she wanted to be a ballerina. “I decided when I was about 15 that I would try to make it and go to a big school,” she says. From Long Beach, California, 19-year-old Strauch began her professional training with Washington School of Ballet, joined Houston Ballet Ben Stevenson’s Academy and attended summer intensives at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Boston Ballet and Washington Ballet. Strauch joined Cincinnati Ballet for the 2012-2013 Season as a trainee, and was promoted for the 2013-2014 50th Anniversary Season to CBII. Strauch’s favorite ballet is La Bayadere, and her favorite dancer is Bridgett Zehr. Strauch is most looking forward to Cincinnati Ballet’s production this March of the classic Balanchine piece, Symphony in C.
Fun Fact: Hannah is, in her own words, “a vegan with a serious caffeine addiction”.
