Maizyalet Velázquez was born in Puerto Rico and trained with Ballet Concierto there. She graduated from the Virginia School of the Arts in 2007, where she studied under David Keener and the late Petrus Bosman. In 2012 Maizyalet was promoted to a Soloist Dancer. She enjoys working with Cincinnati Ballet because it offers the opportunity to perform both classical and contemporary repertoire.
