Ruslan Mukhambetkaliyev
|
After training at the Almaty Ballet Academy in Kazakhstan from 1996 to 2004, Ruslan performed as a soloist in the 2004-05 season with Moscow City Ballet. Before joining Cincinnati Ballet, Ruslan danced with the Russian National Ballet as a principal dancer, performing the leads in full-length ballets such as The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle, Cinderella and The Nutcracker, and touring extensively in the United States, Germany, Italy, Israel, China, and Portugal. The New York Times' review of Swan Lake noted Ruslan as "the most interesting cast member" of the evening in 2006. Ruslan brings his extensive and worldly performance experience to Cincinnati Ballet as a corps member for the 2011-12 season. "The most interesting cast member was Ruslan Mukhambetkaliev, a very young and untried-seeming Prince Siegfried with a long, lyrical body line and buoyant jumps." - Jennifer Dunning, NY Times 2011/2012 Dancer Fellowship Sponsor: Bruce Ryan, Ryan's All Glass
