How do you create "new" choreography based on Petipa's 120-year-old masterpiece? How do you get powerful dancers of today to re-create elegant moves inspired by twelve decades of choreography?
» Devon Carney answers.
[NEW CHOREOGRAPHY] The enchanted world of Princess Aurora and Prince Desire comes to life at historic Music Hall in this famous fairytale, where a spell can be broken with a kiss, and true love means living happily ever after. With lavish costumes and sets, Associate Artistic Director Devon Carney's choreography (after Marius Petipa), and the incomparable Tchaikovsky score performed by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director Carmon DeLeone. These performances mark the first engagement of the CSO sponsored by The Louise Dieterle Nippert Musical Arts Fund.
