A Midsummer Night's Dream

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM
February 11-13, 2011 | Aronoff Center for the Arts
Choreography: Victoria Morgan Music: Felix Mendelssohn

Inspired by William Shakespeare, Cincinnati Ballet Artistic Director & CEO Victoria Morgan choreographs a colorful tale in which entanglements between two sets of Athenian lovers unravel in high comedy.  All are happily reunited at last after enchanted encounters in The Big Forest with mischievous hobgoblin Puck, The King and Queen of the Fairies, Oberon and Titania.  Full of magic and bursting with life, the ballet is set to an agile score by Felix Mendelssohn performed by the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra, and a cast of nymphs and sprites from Cincinnati Ballet Otto M. Budig Academy.
