Cincinnati Ballet's education department and ballet tech cincinnati premiere their new collaboration, "The Cultures of Dance," at 3 p.m. next Sunday at ballet tech, 6543 Montgomery Road, Kennedy Heights.

"Cultures," showcasing contemporary ballet, hip-hop, musical theater and Chinese and Indian dance will tour area community centers this spring. Greater Cincinnati Chinese School Children Arts Troupe, Krucial Hip Hop Crew and Nalanda India Dance Academy also participate.

The dance companies came together to create a project to develop new dance audiences, expand community outreach and promote diversity.

"Our new mantra is "everybody dances," says Ballet artistic director and CEO Victoria Morgan. "That means expanding the definition of ballet, breaking through traditional associations with the term 'ballet.' "

Upcoming performances: April 24, Fitton Center, Hamilton; April 25, Oxford Community Arts Center; May 23, Mayerson Jewish Community Center, Amberley Village.
